small academy for active living

PBS Junior program
We have created a small academy to promote active living in just 1-3 sessions a week. We want to shift children's focus from their stressful, hasty, virtual and static life back to themselves, and therefore we offer solutions to make them healthier and more confident members of society. In the program, which can be carried out individually or as a small group (3-5 people), we work on basic motor skills because they are often not taken care of properly through play or at school and we consider them to be extremely important for success in sports. In addition to this, we offer basic education on nutrition and healthy eating, as well as the basics of the anatomy of the musculoskeletal system and physiological processes in children during growth and development. Moreover, the program includes a number of psychology-related topics: self-awearance, confidence, motivation, nonverbal comunication, emotions and how to develop a positive attitude to life in children.
Our mission is to provide a quality foundation for children and youngsters on which to build psychological and physical knowledge and skills as well as to teach and encourage them to lead an active life and to have a positive attitude about their own body.
The PBS Junior Program was created by Ana-Marija Jagodić Rukavina, who has a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology. She has been working with children for 10 years and this program has added a new dimension to her effort to correct their posture and to raise awareness of their bodies.
Our classes take place both indoors and outdoors. They aim to improve the spinal health, good posture and movement (walking, running, sitting, standing, squatting, bending etc.) and to achieve agility through basic motor skills activities specifically related to sport.
We are dedicated to practical work which is both innovative and entertaining. The kids are simultaneously entertained and motivated to create a positive attitude towards school, sporting activities and society as a whole.
The program is meant for children and youngsters from 6 to 16 years of age. Classes can be done either individually or in small groups (3-5 people) for 60 minutes, one to three times a week. The courses start in September and finish in June of the following year. Throughout the term program leaders keep parents fully informed about their child's progress , in terms of educational, therapeutic and developmental stages he or she goes through.

The aim of the show is to inform and educate children and parents about the need to take care of your own health and body, then to demonstrate the proper way of physical exercise and to animate children of all ages with an interactive and contextual program, under the expert guidance of kinesiologists. The show is designed to encourage young viewers and parents to stand up from a chair or a comfortable sofa and test their posture, breathing regularity and degree of motor skills throughout exercises and games that can be performed at home.
